Every year, homeowners often take a look at their patios and try to come up with ways that they can update the look of their patios. In this blog post, we look at some easy DIY projects to update the look and comfort of your patio this summer. Hope you enjoy reading it.
Get a Fire Table
Fire tables and fire pits have become very popular over the last few years. This isn’t surprising as fire tables are not only very attractive but they also provide a focal point for friends and family to gather around at nights or on cool evenings.
Install a Privacy Screen
There are a few different types of privacy screens, but by far the best is Habitat Screens. Whereas a living privacy screen made from tall plants can stop people from seeing in, it also prevents you from seeing out as well. Habitat Screens will not sacrifice your view while still maintaining a bug-free environment that is cooler during the hot summer months.
You can even go all the way and create a sunroom using Habitat Screens.
Add Lots of Seating
Even though this almost goes without saying – we’re going to say it. Adding more seating and seating options make for a comfortable patio, where your loved ones are more apt to spend their time. Plush outdoor furniture is always a good idea but getting creative with wooden palettes or stone slabs provides an inexpensive solution as well.
Add a Small Herb Garden
A herb garden not only is easy to take care of and spruces up your deck but its practical as well. The greenery makes your patio more inviting, the smells of basil or mint travel when the wind blows, and you have lots of fresh herbs to add to your summer salads. Add self-watering bulbs from your local hardware store to make it even lower maintenance. You can use colorful pots or recycle items from around the home to grow in to give your patio character.
Add Solar Lighting or Fairy Lights
Solar lighting, especially to illuminate boundaries and paths have got to be the easiest patio update in the world. It’s effective, inexpensive, and it looks great. Even if one gets broken or is damaged they are simple and cheap to replace. Fairy lights are cost-effective and make any area look chic.
